The comparisons and guidance on Home Espresso Guide are buying research, not operating instructions. Every specification here comes from published manufacturer data and retailer listings, and real units vary between revisions and regions. Always follow the manual that shipped with your machine where it differs from anything written here.

Espresso machines combine mains electricity, near-boiling water and pressurised steam. Steam wands and group heads cause serious burns, and a portafilter removed mid-shot can release scalding water. Never run a machine with a damaged cord, and never open, dismantle or attempt to repair the internals of a pressurised machine — that is work for the manufacturer or an authorised service agent, and doing it yourself will usually void your warranty as well as being dangerous.

Descaling agents are chemicals. Use the product your manufacturer specifies, never mix descaling products together, follow the dilution on the label rather than any figure here, and flush the machine thoroughly before drinking from it. Where the stakes are electrical, structural or plumbing-related, get a qualified professional rather than a website.

Accuracy and updates

We work hard on accuracy and we show our sources, but this is a website and errors happen. Product prices, ratings, availability and specifications change constantly and the figures here carry the date we captured them. Treat any price on this site as historical and check the current one before buying. If you find something wrong, tell us — corrections are welcome and we would rather fix a page than defend it.
